The clinical activities of the dental office will resume from Monday May 4th, no longer just for emergencies, though initially in a slow down mode, to allow the procedures to be adapted to the new situation.
During these “lock down” months, we have worked to update ourselves and ensure the highest possible security on reopening. Below you will find some information about news and procedures put in place to contain the risk of coronavirus infection (and not only it).
The clinic has always been very careful to all disinfection and sterilization procedures to avoid even potentially serious infections, so we did not have to modify our existing protocols very much.
According to the currently available guidelines, attention is focused on three main areas: office (environments and equipment), staff, patients.
the office has been sanitized through the purchase and use of special equipment. After each visit the rooms are aired and sanitized, the surfaces are disinfected by products recognized effective against coronavirus, non-disposable instruments are sterilized;
the staff has been updated and works with disposable personal protective equipment (gloves, ffp2 masks, disposable scrub uniforms and hats, face shield, etc.); dressing and undressing operations take place in specific areas according to the current protocols; the health of the staff is constantly monitored, even with the aid of serological tests.
the path of patients within the clinic is carefully monitored (triage, temperature measurement, hand hygiene, disposable accessories), and appointments have been spaced to allow sanitization procedures time and to avoid crowding.
All this can lead to a certain lengthening of the waiting and execution times of the services, but with patience and collaboration we can guarantee to work safely.
